Terms of Service

Pre-launch draft, pending legal review. Final terms will be posted before the platform opens for trading.

1. What Hortagora is

Hortagora is a B2B marketplace where Canadian growers sell nursery stock to retail garden centres. We facilitate; the grower sells — when trading opens, every contract of sale is between the buyer and the supplier directly, and Hortagora never holds your money. Right now, Hortagora is accepting membership applications. These terms cover your account and your use of this site; the commercial terms for buying and selling are provided with your membership agreement when your application is approved.

2. Accounts and eligibility

Membership is for the trade: growers, garden centres, and landscape professionals operating a real business. We review every application and verify the business behind it, and we may decline or revoke membership to keep the platform to the trade. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your application, for keeping your sign-in credentials to yourself, and for what is done under your account.

3. Your information

How we collect, use, and protect your information is covered by our privacy policy. In short: we do not sell it, and we do not show one member's identifiable commercial activity to another — anything shared is aggregated and anonymized first.

4. Communications

During sign-up you can give a separate, explicit consent to receive commercial email and calls from Hortagora about your account and orders; it is optional and not a condition of membership. You can withdraw that consent at any time. Verification, security, and service messages are not marketing; we need a working email address to run your account.

5. Acceptable use

Don't scrape the platform, bulk-export its data, or resell information you find here. Don't misrepresent your business or apply on behalf of one that isn't yours. Don't interfere with the service or other members' use of it.

6. The platform, as is

The site and platform are provided as is. We work to keep them available and accurate, but we don't warrant uninterrupted service, and availability information ultimately comes from suppliers.

7. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you in connection with this site and your account is limited to $1,000.

8. Suspension and closing your account

You can close your account at any time by contacting us. We can suspend or close an account that violates these terms, with notice and the reason.

9. Changes

If we make a material change to these terms, we'll tell you by email before it takes effect.

10. General

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and applicable Canadian law. The English and French versions have equal standing. Questions: see the contact page.
